Accessibility Statement

This document applies to the website www.rollesbyparishcouncil.org.  Rollesby Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Accessibility

This website has been created and is maintained by Rollesby Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website and are striving to achieve this by:

  • being able to listen to most of the website with a screen reader;

  • being able to navigate most of the website using just a keyboard;

  • being able to navigate most of the website using speech recognition software;

  • having good colour contrast between the text and the background;

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. Work is in progress to comply with the Standards as far as practicably possible.

All documents from summer 2020 will be prepared in a way to make them as accessible as possible, and we will strive to update all active documents from September 2018 into an accessible format. Older documents may not be accessible as updating these would place a disproportionate burden on the Council.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Scanned documents are not accessible. When we are able to publish these documents in a different format we will do so.

PDFs and other documents

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix documents and accounts published prior to this date.
